Using materials that include stone clay, epoxy putty, copper line, plastic, and resin. For nearly a decade since the late 1970s artist Takanori Aiba worked as a maze illustrator He constructs sprawling miniature communities that wrap around bonsai trees, lighthouses, and amongst the cliffs of nearly vertical islands.

Instead of selling his old CDs for $1 a pop at the local pawn shop, Avery, who is both a sculptor and an illustrator, takes old cds and shatters them to create these shimmering works of art.

After we saw the incredible photos of the half graffiti hotel room at the Au Vieux Panier hotel in Marseille, The hotel has just five rooms that are annually reconceptualized by commissioned artists and designers, somewhat similar to NYC’s Carlton Arms. The Au Vieux Panier Hotel in Marseille, France, has worked with graffiti artist Tilt on the Half Graffiti Hotel Room. More photos here. Tilt divided the room perfectly down the middle, one half covered entirely in his trademark vibrant and bubbly graffiti and the other half left stark white.
